Hi! Would you like to tell us something about yourself? Who are you, what do you like, what defines you?
Hi, I’m Giovanna, I’m 42 years old, I’m from Bergamo and I live on the outskirts of Milan.
I’m the youngest of 4 children, and being part of a large family immediately gave me the foundations for good organization. Even with small household tasks, my mother led us like a master conductor: one set the table, one washed, one dried. Boys included!
I lived my childhood until I was twenty with my family: a period I remember very fondly. At my house, there was always someone extra joining us for lunch or dinner, thanks to my mother’s excellent cooking and my father’s talkativeness! Sport has always been a defining part of our family: my mother was on the national athletics team, my father was on the board of a basketball and cycling club and was an avid AC Milan fan.
I carry healthy competitiveness in my DNA, something even my children recognize when playing card games! I graduated in Sports Sciences, although I would have liked to become a pediatrician.
For 18 years I studied and taught classical dance, tap dance and modern jazz with the Royal Academy of London, and then, as you grow up, your body changes and I fell in love with music-based gym classes.
That is when my adventure in the world of fitness began... step by step as a class participant, gym floor assistant, trainer, personal trainer... then I held other roles less closely related to the product but still within this sector, such as REC, front office manager ... also for companies outside VAI... and after 17 years at VAI, here I am!
And at work? What would a colleague who knows you well say about you?
That I am a DETERMINED person when it comes to achieving goals, with the awareness that goals are achieved thanks to PEOPLE. Every day I grow with my team: listening to them and planning growth opportunities with them enriches my personal experience and makes it unique.
I’m stubborn, but over the years, with a little wisdom, I’m improving!
organized, loyal, reliable, detail-oriented and very very very demanding.
Passionate and still happy to be moved after 17 years at VAI: I put my heart and soul into it!

...when are the Business and People directors retiring?!?
The best thing about your job?
Working with people: from staff to members. Working in an environment where the people who are part of it want to feel good and relax is wonderful.
3 strengths and 3 weaknesses?
Strengths: humble, organized, I put my heart into everything I do.
Weaknesses: stubborn, blunt at times, a bit touchy.
