IL RACCONTO DI

Giovanni

Hi! Would you like to tell us something about yourself? Who are you, what do you like, what defines you?

Hi, I’m Giovanni, I’m a Personal Trainer and I love movement in all its forms.
I love moving consciously, and this is the concept I try to convey to my clients and to those who follow me. Everything must have a logic, a teaching process, a preparation behind it.
What defines me is the desire to improve myself first and foremost, by trying out and testing what I learn from the training courses I often attend, so that I can turn it into a unique training experience for the person who has placed their trust in me.
I mainly focus on functional training and toning. What is increasingly capturing my interest is calisthenics, a discipline I recently decided to take up.
There are difficulties, because my background is different. I come from the world of football, but I am giving it my all to learn new skills.

And at work? What would a colleague who knows you well say about you?

I admit that this is a difficult question to answer. Perhaps they would say that I am a great motivator. (Even too much at times).

Dreams and plans for your future career?

I dream of becoming a manager in the world of sport; in fact, I am studying for that. Now I’ll explain why... I believe that to do this job it is essential to be physically well, and that requires time to dedicate to training, so I ask myself... in 10 or 15 years, will I be able to devote that much time to it? A more managerial role would still allow me to maintain my passion, but with less pressure.

The best thing about your job?

The best thing about my job, without a shadow of a doubt, is the people I am fortunate enough to work with, to whom I can pass on my knowledge, my passion and my experience. Seeing the look in their eyes when they achieve a goal we set for ourselves, knowing the journey we went through, with all the emotions involved, is an incomparable feeling for me. I live to surround myself with people to whom I can give something, without expecting anything in return. If I can pass something on, then I have done my part. It sounds easy, but it is not.

3 strengths and 3 weaknesses?

Strengths: flexible, dynamic, I love listening to the person in front of me.
Weaknesses: 3 are too few :) meticulous - touchy, sometimes I am a bit egocentric (but come on, in this job it fits a little, otherwise you wouldn’t stand in front of 50 people when you teach a class).
